Shegar, look on the op as an enforced rest for you - maybe contact the hospital PALS to see if they can force SS to get their act together?
Or ring the duty team tomorrow and tell them you are going into hospital next Monday and where should you leave the keys for DH's carers to look after him while you are in there?2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

I'm just wondering If anyone has hand stiched a patchwork quilt? Is it too a big project? The reasons why I would like to hand stitch is because My machine skills are not too good, I rush and impatient to get machine stuff finished (afflicted with no creative patience in favour with 'oh I want to see it finished!) and I want to be able to sit with DH and do it calmly and peacefully in the living room with DH to natter to.
Is it too a big a task?
Google Jananese Patchwork Fuddle. Its the easiest patchwork I have found for hand stitching and looks great. Only thing to watch is the padding has to be the felt sort (don't know the technical name).Mortgage and Debt free but need to increase savings pot. :think:0 -
Shegar Your not moaning your just having a carp time.
MrsL I'm glad you had a good weekend.
Nutty I'm so glad your resting with all your painting and booting?? good luck on the job front.
We're dog sitting Murphy tomorrow because his Dads moving house, well he thinks he is but the house he's buying has had a balls up with the solicitor. Happy days we may have guests as the stubborn bu88er doesn't talk to his family.

Ha ha id love to say that to the social team but they know I couldnt and wouldnt leave him alone for half hour , but yea it make me feel like doing something like that....Im hoping that I will be able to sort something with them in next day or two ..........
Ive got to look optimistic otherwise it will get the better of hubby and I , we both need our strenght to keep well , so im desperately dont want to dwell on the situation , im calmer now cos ive had time to think a little today and I will give ss until Friday morning to sort his respite out.....
Im off to bed very soon , its been a glorious day again here today, weve had daffs , primroses , wall flowers out for wks now, ive got birds on eggs in the garden , exciting time of year.........Take care all....Sheila0 -
Sorry to hear about the mould issues Princess and well done Mrs C. Empathies to you both.
Shegar - great you have your op date, crossing everything SS get the respite organised. You will not "bring the thread down", your style of writing makes me smile if anything!
Nutty - take it easy woman, you always sound like a whirlwind, don't know how you do it!
thanks mucculloch and ginny - I am not good with words at these times. I am sending CC strength and love and hoping her DH has a peaceful release soon.

SHEILA well done for 'prompting' the medical PTB and for actually getting the response you did. Brilliant news that they have given you a date so soon. I hope so very much that they can sort out something permanent for your OH in the VERY near future and that the lack of action on the part of the Social Services doesn't stop you from being able to go through with your op. Keep treading water my lovely and don't forget to breathe, you'll soon be through and out the other side and then, hopefully you'll have the time to catch up on yourself, be restored to health and vigour and be able to start to rebuild and enjoy your life again, hugging you every second of every day until then, Love Lyn xxx.0

Fingers crossed for you Sheila, I really hope you can get your op on time and DH's care will be sorted in a place you both like.0

Morning all,
Special hugs for Sheila and Princess. I hope that you can both find some resolutions to your problems and that it doesn't involve too much shuffling on the part of the PTB.
A bit of just getting on with it for me these days. I still feel quite down at times, but I just do one thing at a time and try to make the most of my time off.
Hugs to any and all who need them, and an extra cuddle from Maggie who curled up in my arms for a quick nap of her own accord this morning!0 -

Nutty..sit your bot down girl even if it's just for 5 minutes!!
Sheila sorry to hear SS are messing with you, they just seem to love the sticking plaster approach and only step in at the last minute when you're seen as a 'coper'..does make me cross. My council has an emergency line when the offices are closed and one of the buttons on the recorded message is emergency cover for carers..I know you'd rather be organised in advance but it might be worth seeing if yours do this and checking someone actually answers. If they do then it's a plan B at least..Hope you get it sorted and the op goes well XX
I've been offline for so long I didn't know the news about CC's OH so I caught up last night.I'm so very sad to read her news so please pass on my love and best wishes for all the family McC please, thanks XX
Thinking of all those struggling today XX0
