Hi everyone thank you for all your concern. Were all feeling much better now, ds2 has finally started to calm down. The school were brilliant with him, he was very distressed so spent a full day in reception helping his former y4 teacher. His y5 teacher is fab and completely took him under her wing.

Ds1 and OH were very upset with everything that's gone on; so while oh went on works trip we spent lots of time together.

I was attacked my younger brother who's having a complete mental breakdown. I'm blaming my mother fuddle knows all about her. I'm also blaming myself for not removing him from such a volatile environment. I admit to calling the police not to charge but to have him psychologically assessed. I think he has schizophrenia, ADHD and bipolar.its heartbreaking and he is a little sw!be but still love him to bits.

Spent today doing paperwork and guess what 6 months receipt all fully written up.

Families shsme can't be chosen rather than with

Just find my second cup of baileys, I know very naughty. But first drink i've in five months.

    Evening Everyone!

Sorry about the bad stuff, physical and mental - what gets into families I do not know. All I know is that they rarely change, so hard as it is, for sanity's sake it is usually better to cut ties.

Tomorrow we visit our prospective new family member
    lucky.jpg

His name is lucky and he is about 6 months old. To say I am excited is something of an understatement! We will have to wait for just over a week before we can bring him home as we have a weekend away at the end of the month, it will be a very long week indeed!

Hope all new kitties, and prospective kitties, make you a happy as I am!
Sorry I was lurking. But I just wanted to say what a lovely looking dog. He looks full of fun.
Hope it all works out for you.

Kez I have a family member with schizophrenia and there are a lot of support groups out there. They have afternoons out for lunches etc so you get a break and talk to people going through the same thing.

I don't know if the range of support changes from area to area but it is worth having a Google to see what is available.

Well, I'm at a wedding today and I'm panicking because........
    • Will I be able to wear shoes after wearing wellies for months?
    • Will I be able to fit in ANY clothes as I haven't worn a dress since I put 3 stone on!
    • Will I be able to not comment on how much they have spent on the wedding (not to them but to DH)

We have considered having a drink and getting a taxi home but it would cost about £15 upwards and my purse says noooooooooo!!

There is a jumble on this morning at 9am so I'm hoping I can get there and back, showered etc before 2pm.........

Hello my names PiC and I'm a jumble addict :D

Have a great day everyone xx

Well to join the furbaby parade - we got our wee cat on Thurs and she went to the vet yesterday to be spayed. She was a bit dopey last night but this morning is back to full cute kitten mode.. She's a posh Persian and unbelievably beautiful, and right now she's sleeping at one end of the couch and the RV is gazing at her with a new expression on his face.

Oh Mar she sounds lovely! Lucky was snipped this week, and his fosterer said he was bouncing around the next day like nothing had happened!

'Lucky' probably won't stay 'Lucky', unless he has learned his name, neither of us like it much, so will be looking for a new one.

Ooooooh Mar, we will be needing photos (hurry woman!) :)

    Mrs C - that's a very cute bundle of fur.....I'm not a doggy person but he's adorable.

Hugs to all those in need, seems like quite a few at the moment.

No plans for today, had a housefull yesterday and DDs BFs have both stayed over so lots of bacon sarnies to be made when they all finally wake up. Had several bits of cheery news this week from friends which has put a smile on my face too.

I could do with a couple of hours in the garden but it's grey and chilly and I'm a wimp. I've got a couple of quilts still on the go, 2 paper cuts to do and I'm half way through a new blanket so shall be spending the day flitting between my desk and the sofa :)

    Mrc c he looks adorable.

Mar I agree with pooky we need pictures :)

Kez wouldn't life be boring without all this stuff :) may you have a tacky boring week this week;) in case you don't however you know where I am if you need me:)

I have sorted wardrobe drama last night. I decided we have said for months that dd19 room needs sorting. It's full of oddments of furniture making do rather than being what she needs. So given that we have two sets of sliding doors we can make two sets of wardrobes which would both need two frames each. Dd19 has one frame already with no doors at all. So to make both rooms complete we needed three frames. Went to ikea last night bought one frame in reduced section and one more in main section, that will complete dd8 room. Then next week I will go back and scour reduced bit for another frame for dd19 room. There is no hurry for hers until living room completed as her room is still full of stuff from here. Then we can get rid of the many other bits of furniture in her room. Makes it grown up, useful and rewarding her for her help as well.

OH wants us to play dumb when my father asks about the wardrobes and say oh yes our handyman did it on record time we are really pleased with him. And I think I agree he will either have to silently seeth or admit what he did.

Ds15 and I are visiting a cat show this afternoon to see what its like. He is so excited I keep having to remind him that he can look but not touch. Must remember to pack a fiddle toy for him to occupy his hands. :)

Pic enjoy your wedding and your jumble, remember if it's cost them loafs you need to help them get value for money and eek every last piece of enjoyment out of the whole thing ( abs maybe some food leftovers too!!!)

    Morning doorsteppers,

I haven't been able to get smilies for months either burtha, bit annoying.

Gorgeous dog Mrs C. I am a cat person but getting to be more of a dog person as well with age. "Lucky" is just adorable.

Can't wait to see the next animal pics - Mar you're next I think.

Have a good trip out fuddle, picnics in the car after being blown about somewhere outdoors - just the ticket.

Great on the carboot nutty and good luck with the jumble and wedding PIC (I so empathise with the whole smart outfit thing, I also would like to shift 3 stone)

Yay indeed re the roof Pooky!!

(((((Kez love)))) - sounds like you need some down time now. Hope you are all feeling better now both physically and emotionally. Mental illness is tough to deal with and hopefully your brother will get the help he needs.

Kidcat - grrrrr to the wardrobe situation. Hugely annoying but get it all out of your system asap (if you can) as otherwise your dad wins for longer. ie initial stress and longer lasting negative stuff. Personally I wouldn't ask/accept anything similar ever again from him.

((((Princess)))) - you are talking to the expert or maybe non-expert here regarding families. I found it very difficult to begin with reducing our family ties to the thinnest of threads but the guilt has nearly gone now and although the sadness remains, life is generally far less stressful and I feel more like the real me now. No-one is criticising me for one thing! You need to do what is right for you but reducing the ties can be done.... maybe a temporary complete break from them all? The way I saw it what could we loose - they were being horrible to us anyway. Whatever you do, we are here for you.

off to put out washing... back soon
    sq :)

Thank you everyone for the kind advice and sharing your experiences.

I wished that I had most of your strengths. The issue is still continuing this morning and it caused a snappy five minutes between us both. But we have decided that we’re not letting it come between us.

Will report back later. Hugs to everyone who needs them x
