It may appear that way to you but really I'm just thinking out loud.0 -
Beware picking up. A frightened strange cat, if you try to pick it up or even sometimes stroke it, can go for your hand or worse (face, if lifted). I used to like to touch, and try to tame, until I was badly bitten (at the time it was growling at my cats) and needed an immediate tetanus injection. The wounds and swelling on my right hand took a long time to heal. Also, voraciousness is not just hunger, it can mean there is a condition such as worms or a thyroid mulfunction. You can sometimes capture a stray by placing the food bowl into a cat carrier, further and further over many days, and then swiftly but silently closing and locking the door. Some charities may lend you a trap. But all this supposes the cat is really stray. The usual advice is not just to ask around, but also to put up posters - if not on lampposts (risking a council fine!), then in several local shops, newsagents etc.0
