Esure are charging me £600 pounds to change address!!!!!!!!!!

Hi, called esure up to change the address (1/2 mile difference) on my car insurance policy. They have said it will cost an extra £600 pounds, the original policy only cost £374 in february. So i did an insurance comparison on Moneysupermarket etc. And it will cost less than £600 to insure the car for a year with new address. Its unbelievable!!!!!!

With eSure or with another insurer?

If its another insurer it is fairly irrelevant. Everyone gets massively differing prices quoted by insurers for a whole variety of reasons. MoneySupermarket gives me a price range of £750 to £6,500 for my car.

If its that much cheaper to buy new, double check the cost of cancelling the policy with eSure and if it still stacks up more to the new insurer.

Yep, with esure. Going to have to choose another insurance provider.

Maybe tell them you have found a quote for x and would they match/ beat it. Can ask, worse they say is no.

I've been blackballed by esure , all the top 5 insurance quotes are by esure using different names. They say i can't go with them.

I had this only last week with KwikFit!!! We've moved 2 miles across town and premium went up from £300 to £750
We did a price comparison and found a quote with Swinton for £297 with the same address so we cancelled. We were more than prepared to pay the £50 cancellation (after 14 days of policy starting) fee then we got a letter yesterday saying it was £142.32 we owe them and they wouldn't release the no claims proof to Swinton until it was cleared. Bloody cowboys.:mad::mad::mad:

Going to have to launch a complaint to the financial ombudsman about this.

That is quite common and a way to prevent insurance fraud.
Going to have to launch a complaint to the financial ombudsman about this.
