Don't know your budget, but have you considered a 5* hotel with a good restaurant? Many are licensed for civil weddings, such as The Dorchester or The Ritz.
Can't get much more glamorous for sure?!
I also searched for intimate weddings, uk and came up with this page which has some gorgeous looking venues. The Lighthouse looks fab!If you have nothing constructive to say just move along.0 -
Well i never knew that! I guess that if you get married in scotland its exactly the same law-wise as being married here in england?
Yes - the main differences are just around venues and who is authorised to hold ceremony (and I think there is no requirement for any 'residency' before the ceremony in Scotland). You will definitely be legally married at the end of it

That is lovely, my daughter would love it but it is a bit pricey. Think I might have to start saving now. (Or maybe I just won't show her.)
They had the reception somewhere else and negotiated a better deal just for the wedding. Not sure how much for but I can find out if you want'I solemnly swear that I am up to no good'0 -

I am embarrassed to say that her boyfriend would be shocked that I am planning a wedding, :mad: I think I had better wait till they tell me they are getting married. I think he is the one and recently she has started talking about weddings, she used to say she would never get married so I live in hope. I fancy a nice wedding.Sell £1500

I had a very small wedding with only 6 of us. Bride, groom, best man, step daughter (bridesmaid) & my friend & her husband. It was held in a small chapel at The Mill Forge located right by Gretna Green but away from the tourist area was very beautiful & private. Link;

It was 10 years ago but we returned on our 10 year anniversary & still a beautiful place. Would highly recommend for a small intimate affair.0 -
Always thought castell coch would be nice for a small wedding:

Would have to sort somewhere else for the reception, but with very few of you a nice meal out etc may be better anyway0 -

Google windmill weddings! Very unusual settings but for a teeny amount of people! I would have loved to go ahead with one of these x0

I can also recommend Castell Coch - I got married there a couple of weeks ago, and it is a fantastic venue for a small wedding party (the drawing Room only holds a maximum of 30 people, including the officials!)
We then went to the Inn at the Elm Tree in St Brides (about 30 minutes away) for the meal. As there were only 13 of us altogether, we didn't want a fixed reception meal, so we sent everyone the Elm Tree menu (with the prices hidden) and told people to choose exactly what they wanted. The restaurant dressed the tables and chairs for us, the food and service were fantastic, and best of all .... for pre-dinner drinks/meals/wine/2 double bedrooms and one single room, the cost was less than £800!!
