Mortgage Letter received but solicitor cannot proceed without title deeds?

Hi All,
Last week both my solicitor and I received the mortgage letter from the lender. Then my solicitor said he will send me something to sign off, which will conclude the purchase.
However, I gave a phone call to him this morning and he said he didn't receive the title deeds so he cannot prepare the final paperwork....
My entry date is approaching!!! only one week left. So what can I do? It seems like I can do nothing but to wait for the title deeds from the selling solicitor? And HOW LONG does it take to complete the purchase after my solicitor receives the title deed?
Thanks a lot!

As I understand it Title deeds are now electronic, so the old paper ones are just for fun. This is an open forum, anyone can post and I just did !0

The vast majority of properties are already on the Land Registry and you can download the basic information for £3.
Is this a probate case; as a few older properties are not yet registered with the LR?
Is there and EA involved? Ring them and tell them that the sale is about to fold because of the seller's inactivity. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
I suspect from the terminology this is in Scotland.
Assuming a similar situation to E&W, the actual deeds aren't required unless this is unregistered land. In which case, it will be registered during this conveyance.
Has the property been owned by the current owners for over thirty years and no change been made to any mortgage in that period? If so, it is probably unregistered.I am a mortgage broker. Thanks for your input. The house is quite new, built 10 years ago.
I will have to phone my solicitor again on Monday.
Anyone knows how long it would take to complete the purchase once my solicitor receives the title deeds?

No. it was built 10 years ago. I am a bit worried that the purchase cannot be completed before the entry date since I have arranged the move already...0 -
Could he mean the TR1, ie the transfer paperwork?0

You may have to threaten to pull out of the sale, it generally wakes the sellers up a bit.Be happy...;)0
