Hi,
Is there anyone who is planning to buy a Taylor wimpey home in their new development in Woodley?
We are planning to buy our first family home in South East and looking for new developments, we came across this Taylor Wimpey's which they are planning to launch this summer. We have been living in North so don't have much idea about areas in South... They appear to have better schools out there. We haven't visited the place yet (have a 11 months old baby so lot of planning is required to travel
) , but are planning to visit soon.
Just would like to know(an early headsup actually) if anyone else is thinking of buying in this development and have been there, what are their thoughts on the area, site etc. We are looking for the 4 bed detached ones.
Many Thanks

Woodley is a nice area with good transport links so a lot of commuters in the area. There are several new housing developments springing up in the area at the moment. The Taylor Wimpey development is still very early days and there is nothing yet there to view so don't drive down until they confirm a show home is in place. There are other TW developments near by which you could look at to see if you like the style but nothing at the Woodley site to view (not even a sales centre yet).0

Hi I live in Woodley and love it here. I would say a couple if things though about the Loddon park development to be wary of. Firstly part of its on a flood plane so if you are interested avoid the area nearest the river. Secondly they haven't remediated very well (yet) for school and surgeries so be wary. Also the roads are busy and will get busier with the new homes!
However Woodley is nice. I notice Red Row have just bought a new plot this week. I was looking for a friend but there are no details yet. It is in a much better position than Loddon Park though, hope this helps.

I concur, we had a look around last year before the showhome was open, and it is very close to the river which had some bad floods a few years back! Though hopefully they've factored enough protection into the development, but if you visit, go for a walk along the Loddon river on the opposite bank and you can judge for yourself how high above river level the development is.
Woodley itself is nice area, for comparison on other new builds in the vicinity you could look at places such as Jennetts Park which is similar distance away from M4 (but south on the A329M).
