I provided you with this link on your previous worktop thread. Many outlets sell them around £147.00 for 4100x600x40mm0 -
I have this Duropal one as mentioned on the other thread. I think its the same one as DirectDebacle linked to above.
It is a lovely looking worktop. It was purchased as part of my kitchen via the supplier, but you can get it plenty of places online other than the one in my link.0 -
Duropal are a very high quality worktop and are highly recommended.
If you are looking for something a bit cheaper, Howdens do a 'Wild Walnut'. Just fitted it today for a customer and it looks really good.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0 -
Do duropal 600mm worktops work with howdens units?
Howdens worktops are a strange 616mm!There is more to life than increasing its speed.0 -

Believe me, 616mm is a better depth of worktop.
It allows for a decent overhang over the front of the drawer/door fronts, while at the same time allows you to adjust and trim the rear of the worktop to accommodate uneven walls.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0 -
Just to hijack this thread - apologies OP - as Duropal has been mentioned. I am after a vanity top for a basin and tap to sit on, and have been quoted £320 + vat for a granite/marble piece approx 70/80cm x 50, with a 10cm upstand, which is a bit too much.
As laminate goes - didn't really want to go there but might have no alternative - is Duropal the best for this item?0 -
Sounds expensive. Does the price include drilling the holes for the tap and waste?
IMO the top will not have to withstand the use that a kitchen worktop will have so any reasonable quality laminate top should do. The most important thing is that ALL cut edges will need to be properly sealed in addition to where the top meets walls/tiles. Should give you many years of use if done correctly.0 -
Thanks, it included everything bar fitting.0

I have 2 options now:
Lovely looking duropal walnut at a steal price - £206 for 8m worktop! The only prob with this is its 600mm wide and it just covers my howdens units. say about 4-5mm over them.
And
A oak worktop with 20mm wide staves for £300 for 8m. This is a lovely 620mm wide.
Are 20mm wide staves not preferrable? There is more to life than increasing its speed.0 -
I don't think a 5mm overhang is enough. Mine overhangs by 17mm which looks just right to me. I'd suggest you choose the wider worktop.0
