Transfer though Minneapolis - time needed?

I have a good bit of credit to use up with KLM so thought a trip to Vegas in the Autumn would be nice :)

Anyway, KLM via AMS uses Delta through Minneapolis
I seem to have a choice of 1h 50m or 3hrs+

Is the 1hr 50m generally okay for Minneapolis?

TIA

If the flight is on time and you are at the front of the aircraft you might just make it.

Damn, it'll be a long enough day as it is

May go to DC instead :)

You can see the average wait times for all US airports here -

MSP is a lovely little airport. Your flight in and out will be from the same terminal and there is a light transit system that runs above the length of the terminal. 1:50 is plenty of time obviously as long as its on time. If you miss it presumably they will put you on the 3 hour wait time one.
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

I hour 50 is fine in most cases. I've had shorter transfer times than that there and even with a blizzard going on we flew in and on bang on time.

As Stoneman says worst scenario is they'll put you on the one 3 hours later. I've always hoped for a long delay at MSP so I could hop on the train and take a look at the Mall of the Americas but I've never had a significant delay there. Nice irport-lots of food choices-was even a chap playing a grand piano in the terminal one time I flew through.

Not sure what Richard is talking about and Washington would be a poorer choice.

Where's the guarantee that there'll be available seats on the next flight at very short notice?

Where's the guarantee that you'll get through immigration nice and quickly and you won't get caught up in a bulge of peak arrivals ?

It's good to hear succesful connections, but anything can happen and allowing extra time may be a bit of prudent self insurance.

I've not been to DC so I sort of fancy it and I've sort of decided now, most people I've spoken with loved the place.
I've done Vegas before so it won't be a great loss

    Cheers all the same
