When you are in a forum you can't get back to the forum index like you used to be able to by clicking at the top of the forum - very annoying when the only way to do it is by forum jump which isn't so easy to navigate.0

Please please please change the colour, that green gives me a headache!"The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, but wiser people so full of doubts."

Thought I would chip in my two-pennyworth ...
Firstly, huge congrats to the designers, webadmins, programmers, tea-makers and all who were involved in the redesign work - there must be a huge amount of work involved in something of this scale even though as users we don't see most of it.
There was a comment (from Martin I think) that he got feedback that the proposed redesign with lots of white space looked too commercial and so he decided to go with this one instead.
I think that the redesign is still rather cluttered. I don't like the bar on the right. I do like that you've continued to keep the number and size of graphics down - I find some other sites to be rather more interested in flashy (!) design rather than content and speed/ease of access.
I've said that I would prefer a less cluttered design but I appreciate the need to 'take the users with you' when making changes. The current design is a big step in the right direction from my POV. When users are used to this one and the (hopefully small number of) teething problems sorted out, the next redesign can be planned and executed, and another step can be made. Of course, technology changes and for a site as popular as MSE, scalability is going to be key.
A more general comment is that I don't like that the articles on the main site aren't dated. I know that they say 'updated quarterly' or similar but I think that an actual date of the last update or review by the site team would be very helpful. Perhaps the 'updated quarterly' could be amended to show 'updated quarterly - last update DD MMMM YYYY'?
More power to your elbow Martin and I'd like to take this opportunity to thank all of the people at MSE Towers and the people who take the time to post in the forums.
Cheers

I love the colour and the look of the site, but it's weird having everything on the right hand side (not sure if I like that), and the 'breadcrumb' is way too small and hard to see immediately.
Also, in Forums, there's not enough destinction between read and unread threads (unread ones need to be bolder or a different colour)
Otherwise it looks good

Although the bar on the right takes getting used to I think this will be much better in the long run. You can open your window smaller and you don't have to scroll over.
Re The colour. I'm not a fan of it either but might get used to it so holding off judging it.
Wonder if we could be given the option of picking our own style (like you can here with the drop-box at the very bottom-left)

Just curious, but I wonder if all those who don't like the colour are blokes?
I really like it. (Girlie here)
I do agree with sra about the yellow banner though. It's awful and looks all wrong (sore thumb kinda wrong).
Also glad the font thing is to be addressed, forum index page is pretty bad as it just looks squished which makes it harder to read.0
