Fabbing today:
1. First morning of Yoga done today. Felt great afterwards.
2. Face cleansed, toned and moisturised.
3. Hoping to fit a short walk in at some point - between rain showers.
4. Following the Paul McKenna weight loss programme, ie: eat consciously and stop when you are full.
Been to a Buddhist chapter meeting today too. I decided to try practicing Buddhism a couple of months ago and am loving it. Feel uplifted and inspired by the meeting today.0 -
Hi
Id like to join this thread if i may? Ive followed the past 2 threads but never joined in (im not sure if my old username has been disabled through lack of activity but for some reason i can no longer sign in and it doesn't recognise my email address??)
Anyway, i kept saying to myself when the new thread started i would join so that if i wrote something down i would have to do it!!!
So to start, im a middle aged mum to 3 very young kiddies, work full time and am 4 stone overweight. In fact for many years ive neglected myself putting kids, H, house renovations, debts, family preferences first.
I looked at some photos the other day and it really got me down. I used to be lovely and slim, very happy and pretty and today i just look like a bag lady!
I stopped buying clothes and make up to save money despite H spending wildly and now my kiddies are getting older and one is at school i don't want to look like the down and out mum who looks haggered!!
So my goals for this thread are:
1 - Start cutting out the chocolate and fizzy pop - i can down gallons of the stuff daily and not the diet version either!!
2 - Start back running - downloaded the couch to 5k app and will get on my running machine.
3 - Take care in my appearance when going to work
4 - Get my H to help out with the kids more to give me a bit more time to myself
5 - Have a night out once in a while - i watch everyone around me have a fab social life and mine is none existence, partly because my friends all moved or have their own families and partly because i feel so down about myself i think whats the point!
Sorry for my rambling, its all just spilt out but now its in writing i have to follow it!!!!Starting weight: 14st 02lb - 15.07.2013 (WW)
Goal Weight: 10st 07lb
2014 starting weight. 12st 7lb0 -
Welcome Time to Get up and Go I am sure this thread will inspire you and you will get lots of support.
Best of luck with returning to running. I would like to do this too but am now so overweight I'm starting off with getting back into regular walking. I previously used the book 'Running made Easy' and found the programme in it really easy to follow.0 -
Good morning everyone
Welcome TGG - glad you have decided to come out of lurkdom and join in with the happy band of fabbers.
Well it's miserable here, cold and windy. I've even had to put the heating oh:eek:
Yesterday was a bit of a non starter for me. Don't know quite what happened but the extra fabbing fell by the wayside - so definitely going to have a little me time today and just catch up with myself.
I have some paperwork to do and I must visit mum but other than that I am going to devote some time to "my" stuff.
Not much news.
I have to talk with OH's consultant this week, the drug trial is drawing to a close and I'm afraid to say the results are largely inconclusive. Some slight improvements but I think these are largely down to the Gabapentin rather than the supposed wonder drug Fampyra.
Oh well it was worth a try. On the plus side OH seems stronger and wants the surgery. I think he's up to it, so will discuss this with his team.
Survey being done on DS1's property and just waiting to hear if offer has been accepted on DS2's house. Really looking forward to moving.
Other than that, I'm just jogging along nicely. As you can see from my early post I'm not sleeping too well but at least my tummy problems have settled now.
I just need to get my act together, lose some weight and work on the fitness.
I'm all stocked up with healthy stuff so as from today it's here goes with a fresh clean slate.
My goal is to be nicely settled in our new home by the Autumn Equinox having lost 1 stone.......
Onwards and upwards.;)0 -
Thank you Bitsy
for starting the ball rolling on the next phase of this journey.
Well....I've FINISHED my house fabbing :j:j:j the flat is now all freshly painted, and I've laid all new fitted carpets, so I'm finally able to get my life back again!!!:T I won't EVER be doing it again....I couldn't afford to get someone in to do it for me.... and even though my hands are now going through stages of numbness (the return of the Carpel Tunnel Syndrome), I've the rest of my life to rest them and return them to normal. People suggested that I took long breaks , but I had to do it all in one foul sweep, or I'd never have got it all done!!:D
Anyway...good to 'see' you all , and welcome to any newbies and lurkers, and lets keep moving towards our goals with smiles on our faces and joy in our hearts. Have to stop now...cant feel anything in my hands!!!LOL:D

Hello all,
I intend to follow this thread more closely this time round to keep me motivated.
We're off on a holiday of a lifetime in September and I NEED to be fabulous by then. I refuse to insist Hubby takes photos of just my head and the scenery behind, I look like I'm photobombing my holiday snaps!
So, in order to achieve fabbyness I intend to...
- lose 1 stone though I'd be happier to lose inches and drop a dress size
- drink less alcohol and more sugar free squash to improve my skin
- exercise 3 times a week
- spend more time pampering my hands and feet
- laugh every day.0 -
Hi all
Welcome to the newbies
I said in my other post that I had started at a slimming club on Tuesday, well all week I have not been happy with the foods that you are allowed to eat and have as much as you want and you are meant to still lose weight. Its all processed rubbish.
I was chatting to my work friend about this and we have decided that to save some money and also to have someone to be accountable to, then we would set ourselves a 90 day challenge.
So thats what we've done, we will both weigh in on monday mornings and put 50p in a pot and £1 if we put on, then at the end we will divide the money up.
Think that will be a much better way of doing it. We have both pledged to lose 1 and a half stone (although we both need to lose a lot more, but its a start).
Didn't sleep well last night, was helping my cousin with his VAT on the computer and then spent the rest of the night thinking about him, so think I will be having an early night tonight.
Tea tonight is homemade pizza and salad, that way I can put lots of healthy veg on the pizza.Chiari Brain Malformation - decompression survivor

hello everyone and hello to all the newbies!
tried to sell my rings at weekend, £1,000 of jewellery is now only worth £48. ive kept them, i might try and see if i can sell them privately and get a bit more!
my mum bought me this ring as a present for getting my training contract and as a "new start" token. its gorgeous, the photo on there really doesnt do it justice! i only saw it by chance too, the tiffany one i wanted had only one left in the entire UK and this one just caught my eye in the shop window as we passed! I looked up what the gemstones mean when i got home, Aquamarine, as well as being my birthstone, is for courage, good luck and soothing fears, Blue topaz is for courage (again!) and overcoming fears and obstacles, Iolite helps you grow spiritually and build relationships and Diamond is for yet more courage and hope! probably couldnt have picked a more appropriate set of stones if i'd tried! :rotfl:
Hewie - which one did you join? I used to do Slimming World and i lost weight on it but I got disillusioned with the fact that it was all processed "diet" food like diet coke and fat free yogurt that didn't do me any good. i do my own hybrid mix of Clean & Lean and Kimberley Snyder's Beauty Detox now (her blog is here really good and its regularly updated too!)0 -
Good evening ladies
I've done some yoga tonight. I am pleased to say that for once attempting downward dog split I didn't end up with cramp starting in my hips :T just goes to show that a little bit of practice every day helps. Ok sure I couldn't do half of what Tara Stiles does seemingly effortlessly but I am at the start of my yoga journey whereas she's been doing this for years. My arms might not look weedy (thanks bingo wings) but they have hardly any strength in them
Had a lovely big salad lunchtime, probably too big as I still wasn't very hungry at tea time
Not much other fabbing, just been a very busy day. Same again tomorrow too  the closer we get to end of term the more events are happening, it's hard to keep up!
Hewie so glad to see you postingI confess I don't like diets like SW and WW, too much reliance on processed crap and not about cooking from scratch etc.
Squid woo hoo that ring is fabulous
His missus where's your holiday?
Skymist well done on finishing house fabbing :T
LL sorry results of drug trial appear to be inconclusive x
Time to get up and go welcome to the thread
Right off to drag DS to bed, catch up again tomorrow. Hugs and high fives all round xxI have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks
