Foreign Objects in Food - Supermarkets 'losing' the evidence

Hey Guys,
Just wondering how many people have found various foreign objects in their food, sent it off to be investigated, only for the major supermarket in question to email you back with this:
'It is with regret and embarrassment that I have to tell you, however, that the sample you kindly returned to us has been inadvertently misplaced and could not be found'
While I appreciate their offer of a gift voucher (amount not stated) which is currently on its way through the post, it does not go anywhere near the dentist bill I am soon to incur after breaking my tooth in half!
I did take photo's before i sent it off, I am just so mad they 'lost' the offending item! Is it worth reporting this to the FSA? (which i what I should have done in the first place!):mad:

Just remind them that the letter that went with the sample stated that you have just paid £ x00 at the dentist (plus allow for travel and missed work), and that you intend to pursue them for it through the small claims court if necessary. Who cares if they cannot find the evidence to defend the case, you still have your photo evidence.0

This wasnt the coin in the packet of crisps, was it?You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0

Hmm, new poster, first and only post, making unlikely complaint about a supermarket.
If a supermarket did lose your evidence the reply you would get back would be along the lines of:
"We are very sorry that our standards have slipped in this instance. We take the quality of our products very seriously and the matter has been taken up with our suppliers who are investigating. Please accept a voucher for ..."
Why on earth would they admit to losing the evidence? There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.0 -

They may well be but, if you notice, there is nothing dishonest in the sample response I gave. They simply don't mention the evidence. There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.0 -
As IF this would happen! And if it did they wouldn't admit to it they would just bloody pay out via their insurers! No company would admit to losing it!

I have no idea but there was a very similar thread about a coin in a packet of crisps and a broken tooth, it just contradicted and didn't add up.

Various foreign objects? Crikey. How many did you find?"Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0
