part isa conversion

Hi all,

I have 10k in a cash isa to which i am going to add 5k this year so i will have 15k total with one provider. Is it possible to transfer a portion of this say 5k to a s&s isa in a year or twos time?

    Yes

You can transfer from Cash ISA to S&S ISA whenever you want, but can't transfer anything the other way round.

if you want to transfer any of the money you contributed in the current financial year, you have to transfer all of it.
  • So if in 10 years if I have built up 50k in a cash isa with one provider but I wish to convert 25k of that into a S&S isa then that is possible? I wouldn't have to convert all 50k of it?

Yes, it is. if you are planning to hold for long term, i would move all of it into S&S, and, potentially, choose some really cautious investments within that.
