Ahhhh I'm really sad.
I live in a village that has half a dozen hairdressers, same of estate agents and seven Indian/Chinese/Pizza and a chippy - no butchers or greengocers.
Kwiky will be sadly missed here if it closes next week. (Another 10 to be closed on Monday I'm told).
The staff are brilliant and are being treated really badly - not being kept informed.
It will kill this village if it closes:grouphug: A smile, a 'please' and a 'thank you' cost nothing0 -
Ironically it was Kwik Save who invented the concept of the own brand cheapo range with "No Frills" (1990, I think). It was a couple of years later until all the big supermarkets nicked the idea.
It's sad how Somerfield singled out the Kwik Save stores in the most isolated and impoverished areas and converted them to the Somerfield brand because their marketing execs realised they had a captive audience in those locations, and thus the Kwik Save "discount" format could be replaced by the Somerfield "convenience" (a.k.a. rip off) format.0 -
