Phones4U - Orange - Discount Not Applied
I've checked for Phones4U thread and could not see one, so I am posting a new thread.
In February this year, I signed up to a new phone contract via Phones4U over the telephone. The deal was £36 a month and they said they would give me a discount of £7.50 a month for the full 24 months. They sent me the paperwork and the new phone. The receipt clearly states "750 airtime credits per month for 24 months".
Someone at work mentioned that they had not given him the promised discount the other day which prompted me to check my bills. They don't send them through the post and I have never been online to check them until today.
The !!!!!!s have not given me the £7.50 discount per month, and I am currently on month 4. Errrrr!
Who do I contest it with? Is it Phones4U or Orange?
And what are my rights? I'm assuming I can get the £30 they have overcharged me. Is there anything else? Could I pull out of the contract because they have obviously not kept their side of the bargain or am I expecting too much? Could someone kindly advise. I am not sure what my rights are and whether it was my fault for not checking the bills from the start.

What's written on the contract. Verbal contracts carry as much force as written ones but are harder to prove.

Conract Sale: Airtime Credits 24 months 7.5 value added service
So I guess that just concludes what they said on the telephone. £36 a month and we will give you £7.50 off per month bringing it down to £28.50.0 -

Not really. It says £7.50 added service not £7.50 off payment. Maybe you get to go over your tariff by £7.50.0 -

Hmmm. Good point but I doubt it. She clearly said £7.50 off per month and it will bring it down to £28.50. I'm sure they would have the recording somewhere on their files.0 -

That makes little sense.
Airtime credits usually refer to PAYG, your on a contract, maybe they give you an extra set of minutes. as a credit rather than cash off, but you'd need to go back to P4U to explain, its an odd way to describe a cashback.0 -

No chance I'm afraid. For one thing you need to give them chance to correct what could be a genuine mistake or misunderstanding. However it isn't clear if you have contacted them about it or not.
Whenever I see people say 'can I get out of my contract' it always makes me think they have decided it's either too expensive, a newer phone is on the market or they deal they took out x months ago is now much cheaper. Apologies if that doesn't apply to you

The same thing happened to me. I contacted Orange, and they were able to validate that when P4U sent the paperwork to them, that the discount hadn't been applied correctly. I checked my 1st bill though.
Strictly speaking you should go through P4U, but Orange were able to sort it on my behalf.0 -
if its your first bill then its pro-rotad and the bill credit wont apply oranges idea.
after your 2nd bill there will be a credit on the bill every month of £7.50 if its not your first bill then speak to P4U C/S and they can get it reapplied as if a bill credit fails to apply the store you brought from will get an email and then C/S sort it if the store know what to do
