Would anyone like to help out as a Gaming Board Guide?

Go on I'll put myself down too. Gaming wise I mainly play on PC and PS3 (probably soon PS4) and my favourite genre is RPG in particular the Elder Scrolls, Final Fantasy and Dragon Age series

I've also served a similar role briefly on digital spy forums when they experimented with what they called Forum Hosts who did more or less the same thing as the board guides here do. This was in the mobile phone section which can be one of the more problematic areas of DS with the constant iOS vs android threads and the like

All of us have played many games in the past and probably hope to do more of it in the future, but the lack of having played air combat games or only ever playing first person shooters or angry birds should not detract anyone from being considered based solely on the game types they play.

It should be based more on who you are, and your past posting and reporting history, but I tend to find it usually comes down on post count more often than not in newer forums or subforums simply because no one knows what to expect. This is after all the biggest forum in the UK and one of the highest profile, it would be a shame if someone was chosen based on claiming they had experience without being able to back it up.

My offer was purely for gaming related problems (lagg,drivers,crashes etc) that may be asked about on the gaming forums and for your information i have been admin on many forums and game servers since 1998 including stargatehosts.com which used to run about 60 Counterstrike, Day of Defeat and all Half life related games and forums.

Just a reminder, this is a volunteer board guide role, you wouldn't be moderating (we don't have moderators on MSE) and you wouldn't be dealing with abuse issues - those are reported direct to the Forum Team via the report button and you wouldn't see those.

The role's to merge and move threads if they could get a better response on a different board, help spot and remove spam and also flag up offers that could go in the weekly email or possible news stories.

Board guides help out on more than one board so being on and around other boards as well as this one fairly regularly would be a help.
