After buying the phone i am quite happy with it, but there are two issues that seem to be annoying me quite a bit. Firstly the charger seems to be awful at charging the phone, as even with turning the phone off and plugging it in it seems to be charging 25% in 90 mins. I have ofter heard the oh moaning about his charger being temperamental but it seems to be an issue with mines as well. When i switched it and used my htc charger it charged 25% in 20 mins compared to 90 mins with the samsung one.
The second issue is i cannot get it to connect to my mac, when i plugged my old phone in it was come up on my computer and ask me on the phone if i wanted to change to a storage device. This does nothing but make a beep and start charging and i cannot find anything to make it into a storage device so i can transfer things.
Does anyone know how to fix either of the above issues? Thanks

There was an issue with some Samsung s3 chargers. There's a slow and a fast charge version. Google it. There's lots of info about it.
You won't get it to work with a mac. It's an android phone! You might be able to use Bluetooth etc to transfer.Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman0 -
You need this for a Mac: http://www.android.com/filetransfer/0

Would DropBox or Google Drive be an alternative method of transferring files from one device to the other?
There are Android apps for both.0 -

Would i even need to download something to get files to transfer? My htc was an android and all i had to do was plug it into the computer and it would register automatically. I have found an old micro sd card with the adapter so im going to use that for the time being as it seems the easiest way.
I looked and seems like the s3 charger is not so good so will need to stick with my htc one for now, but as im looking to get rid of that phone i need another charging option! Thanks for the help.0 -

I have a HTC One XL with Sense 4+. When i recently did an OTA firmware upgrade I discovered HTC have removed the USB storage option when you connect. Instead a folder would open with HTC Sync Manager app, even after I had installed it. This program is a waste of time, and tries to grab all your media allowing no chance to manage it. Stopping the service required use of Terminal, and altering fstab, so not easy to do - some may prefer rooting their phone.
Check if your firewall is on; you will need to give permission for a program to gain access if it is on. Check if USB debugging is set to on, on your phone (Settings/Developer Options). A problem I had with the One is that every time I connected, the phone reset this option to Debug, and the files would start to transfer, then after a minute slowly fail, crashing the AFT.
You need either Android File Transfer (AFT) for Mac or Airdroid. Neither worked well for me, possibly due to other server software conflicts on my mac. I didnt like Airdroid, very slow and clunky interface.
Without root, I have managed to get wifi to work.
The best solution for me has been two free programs that allow SSH wifi between phone and Mac. Cyberduck on Mac and SSH Server app for android. If you haven't ever used SSH before you will need some help. Let me know and I'll try to help.0 -
