I ordered a Toshiba laptop on the 26/5 I rang up just now to see if it had been dispatched due to me going away for a few days tomorrow only to be told my account had been approved after security checks had been made but the laptop was now unavailable due to stock problems and no money had been taken!

Why advertise something you don't have??? Really P***ed me off this due to there being some good deals about over the bank holiday weekend that I've missed out on because I'd ordered this one.

So back to square one, I'm looking for a laptop around about the £300 mark to connect to the net wirelessly. Anyone recommend anything?

Pretty much exactly what happened to my brother and his girlfriend about five months ago, as I posted in your earlier thread http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=464135.

I guess play are really rubbish at anything other than small value items.

Yeah sounds much the same sorry never noticed it before.

Quite like the look of the dell one can't help thinking I need more memory if it has vista though as people have pointed out. It also says wireless card needed would prefer one with wireless tech already installed.

There seams to be some good looking deals on ebay but I guess it's a bit of a minefield getting a lappy off there for someone not very techy minded like myself.

Seeing as I have a Dell desktop that I bought through a scheme run by my employers which was backed by the goverment and pay for it monthly directly out of my wages in which the final payment is due in August do you think if I were to call dell they may do me a bit of a deal on a laptop?

    Is it worth a try?

It's worth a try, but I doubt the fact you have a Dell already will make any difference
