Forgive me all of you who have been doing these thread things for ages but I'm brand new to this so I desperately need help! I just bought the alcatel handset that Martin recommended on his email a week or so ago and now, when I try to find information on how to unlock it, I can't! One of the reasons I got it was because I believed I could stick my main sim card in it and use the new handset but I have a feeling I may be disappointed.

Can anyone help with unlocking it for free at all?

Cant be done for free (I can if its on vodafone) if its on any other network other than voda then your local pro unlocker can do it with cables for around £5

Thanks Jaymarsh! Unfortunately this offer was with Orange so I guess I need to go for the £5 unlocking option. when you say my local pro unlocker can do it with cables - what do you mean? Will he provide these cables? Sorry for the ignorance!

No he will ahve his own cables and will connect the phone to a box and unlock it for you while you wait.

i paid for mine to be unlocked using the free o2 sim cards

just asked at a phone stall in a market would he unlock it in return for some o2 sim cards which i sent off for with a link from this site
