I could talk all day about handbags!

Mulberry have a great sale right now:whistle::whistle:

I have 8 Mulberries, I've only paid full price for one of them, 2 were gifts and the rest either sale purchases or from a private designer forum I'm a member of.

eBay can be great but obviously you need to be wary of fakes. If you find a mulberry you like post on this thread http://forum.purseblog.com/mulberry-shopping/authenticate-this-mulberry-please-read-post-1-first-803750.html

And one of the lovely ladies who are experts will let you know if its real. I got my Mulberry Roxanne on eBay for £200, it retailed at £695 and was in great condition:D

The Purse Forum is great, there are sub forums for all the major high end designers and authenticators to help you out if you're second hand shopping.

I thought I would come back to this....in the end, I bought a Radley direct from Radley in one of their stores. It has been hauled around ever since, full of 'stuff', has probably been over-filled much of the time, left on dirty floors and goodness knows what else.

A year later it looks like new. I am a convert. So much so, I bought two additional bags in their sale this year (had been putting money aside for them all year!) so am about set for life now!

I was going to say search on eBay. My tan leather handbag is from eBay, it was only about £20 and it's perfect. I knew what I was looking for in terms of size, pockets, etc then kept looking till something came up.

thats what originally took me to Nica bags - we have several in the house now, between my daughter and I, all bought in one of their sales, we love them :) -

I used to love Radley, bought a couple in plain leather with just the little dog. In recent years I seem to see loads of garish colours, loud stitching and applique and they look naff to me. Which styles are you buying?

I love talking about handbags, buying handbags, looking at handbags, heavens I even enjoy a night in cleaning my handbags. Have loads of them. Second the nica mention. Not expensive, compared to many of mine but very good quality & affordable enough to go for color & trend too.

I used to be a big fan of Radley but they seem poorer quality for more money now.
I also agree about the garish colours looking cheap.

Modalu 'Pippa' bags are fantastic - excellent quality, a wide variety of colours, and matching purses if you are into that kind of thing.

My best bags have been from Jones, the bookmakers. I set up searches with brand I like in leather under £10 on ebay. May have bought one each of the last few years. Bargain+ quality makes me happy!
  • I had a Radley bag and I found it pretty good quality. It lasted well and I was quite rough with it, I'm afraid I probably didn't look after it as well as it deserved, chucking it on the floor and constantly over filling it ;-)
But then my hubby bought me a new bag this year for my birthday - a Mulberry! I nearly fell off my chair! So this one, I look after!
