I wouldn't apply for any more if Aqua have deferred your application. They are sub prime so if you can't get one of those, you may struggle to get anything else

Ok, makes sense - thanks, I'll wait and see what happens with aqua.
My credit rating (I'm on Experian credit checker) is good - have never had bad debt or anything like that. I really wish I'd jumped on the credit card bandwagon when they were doling them out like sweets.0 -
Speaks volumes about Experian's score that a "good" credit score results in an Aqua referral and a decline from your own bank. Best cancel that subscription if you're paying.
Not having any credit cards yet will likely preclude you from the best deals (based on the information provided). Aqua or Capital One are good places to start0 -
I applied for my first direct card on Friday, arrived yesterday..
Applied for Sainsburys two weeks ago, approved instantly, heard nothing since..seems like each company has massively different delivery times.Never argue with an idiot. Especially not this idiot because I'm always right anyway.0 -
nationwide, had the card within 4 days, the letter stating I had been accepted arrived after the card along with another letter with the pin.0

Applied for HSBC credit card, approved instantly, card received three days later, pin three days after that.0

On multiple applications, other lenders may me able to see the search you have already made but not the outcome. More than 2 searches in a 6 month period can have adverse effects on your credit rating
I applied for an Aqua card, NatWest card and Tesco bank card in the same week in February. Accepted for all three with credit limits over £3k on Tesco and NatWest. This was after being accepted for a Capital One card with a £3k limit in November.0 -

Which proves my point. Simultaneous applications can be beneficial. I've been accepted for 4 over 6 months including 2 simultaneous applications. Amex Gold charge card and three 0% BT credit cards totalling £18k limit. If the applications had been spaced out allowing new credit agreements to show up on my report, the outcome and the limit may have been different. Note "may". It's all conjecture0 -
Bare in mind, some creditors like to do soft searches occasionally after an application has been approved (especially Amex charge cards if your spending a lot), so you might suddenly find some companies lowering limits or cancelling cards.0
