Hi I had my smartphone stolen and im still on contract but only 10 months in on 2 yrs. ; Unfortunately not insured. Phoned my phone when realised it was gone and switched off this was witin 10minutes. Contacted my provider and they diabled it. But if the theif removed the sim is the phone still accessible for my information. I provided the police with my Imei number. I did have an app on my phone for when it got stolen but a) I dont know if it will work with the phone disabled by the provider and I cant remember exactly which app or b) how to access it from another device even if it did. C) and last, but not least, im totally clueless with tech stuff ! Anyone out there who can help ?

Is it an android phone? Google play will show you which apps you have installed. Unfortunately it's probably too late. Did you have a PIN lock on it?

Too late to track the phone once your provider has knocked the SIM off the system and blocked use of the phone by any network... However, here are some hopefully useful tips on phone security:

    1. Set a SIM PIN to stop the easy use of the SIM in any phone and help prevent huge bills on stolen SIMs.

    2. Set a phone PIN to limit use of the phone, configure the phone to auto lock (requiring the PIN to be entered) after 2 or 3 minutes.

    3. Configure the the phone so that it's wiped after several attempts at guessing the PIN.

    4. Install a tracking App so you can possibly find a lost phone. Beware they don't always give an accurate location when the phone is inside a building. Some Apps also allow you to remotely wipe the phone.

    5. Register your phone details at http://www.immobilise.com/

And keep a note of how to track and immobilise the phone.

Only if the App has been installed and then prior to reporting it stolen to the network...
