bad choice using talk talk for business home use
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

Are there any lights on the router which say broadband or internet (or both?)

the power and adsl lights are on, the internet and wlan flashing ...unless it died again and she has to restart

If you're restarting the router 5-6 times a day your ISP may be resynching at a lower speed.

Have you managed to try an alternative router at all?

there's no alternative router available, but even if i/she got one, how would that help if the "ISP may be resynching at a lower speed"? i'm sincerely asking, not being "clever".

to re-ask my intial question, there's no way for her out of the contract without the cancellation fee?

would i perhaps get more "legal" advice if i posted in the consumer rights subforum?

i haven't been there to see for myself very often, but according to her, they both stay the same or stop blinking, with no discernible pattern.

a tech came by yesterday to check her connection, and told her that she's only getting 2 mb from the 20 she's paying for. they're gonna run more tests, etc, etc.
