Damaged Blackberry - Under warranty

Hi guys,
I wonder if anyone can help.
My Brother bought himself a Blackberry for his birthday in February and has asked me if when I next visit, can I take it back for him as the headphone jack part of the phone doesn't work (He is only 15 and lives in Edinburgh). My mum cant find the receipt but they did pay by cash. Would I be OK to go into the store and ask them to sort it or would I be better off contacting Blackberry direct?
Many Thanks

Try the shop first - they should have IMEI number.
Though it might be easier just to get in touch with Blackberry as they will have record of IMEI and will have all the warranty details.0 -
If it's really a damage, not a fault, then warranty doesn't cover this.0

If he's bought it in February then it's covered under the manufacturer's warranty for the first 12 months. I think that might cover the damage? I could be wrong, worth asking though
