Hi I ordered an item and they delivered 2 (came as separate parcels)
I could have said nothing and sold one of the items - but i thought this was wrong and emailed the company. They said thanks for letting them know and they will be in touch the next day to pick the item up. That was a week ago.... I will drop them another e-mail today to remind them.
My question is how long should I keep storing this item before I get rid - i dont want to keep it. It's only small but i keep getting paranoid i will lose it (or kid break it) and then a month later they come chasing for it or the cost.

You have emailed them, now say you have 7 days or you will dispose of the item, after that its there problem.0

Put it in writing that they have 14 days to collect or you will dispose of the item and bill them for having to do so.
Send the letter via Recorded Delivery.0 -
You have a duty of care - you cannot just dispose of it. You ARE allowed to sell it (after having twice contacted the other party in writing to collect it at your convenience), but you can't just sell it off cheaply - it must be a reasonable price. The other party is entitled to the proceeds of the sale less your reasonable selling expenses.0

Really? Let's wait until others with more background knowledge see this and post.
I suspect you'll find they support what I have said.(I may not have stated everything 100% correctly, but the general gist of my post is correct - I believe).

Are you able to offer any back up to your claim that they OP can throw it away after 2 weeks? (OP has had it one week plus you say to give 7 days notice).0 -

They have failed to collect the goods, they have been notified, the op has given them reasonable time.0 -

Which part of law says you can destroy another party's property after 2 weeks?0 -
I'm beginning to wonder if battleborn is Flyboy under another pseudonym?
(Although Flyboy's posts tended to be more eloquent, and at least usually grammatically correct. So maybe not).0
