I paid the fee to Halifax on 28th may, they then requested my employment contract and past three payslips so valuation wasn't instructed til the 8th June... Scheduled for 3rd July. 5 weeks from application to valuation! Luckily it got moved to tomorrow
this is in Surrey

Its comforting to know that I'm not the only person that has been waiting for an offer for so long. It seems that Halifax/Surveyors are very busy at the moment so I guess the wait continues.
Hopefully my valuation will be done next week as I haven't been given at date as of yet0 -
My offer came today :-)Never, under any circumstances, take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night.0

I think you need to chase them to give u the valuation date, they normally would tell you the date if the have booked. So they probably haven't book the valuation yet. If you don't push them, it will takes agess...
Good luck0 -
It really is the postal code lottery, whilst it helps to stay on top and check; Colleys are not the most flexible at speeding up a valuation and to be fair they can only book in for what they have capacity for.
Most brokers and clients will call and say that their case is urgent..

So I am waiting on a FTB Halifax offer too, I am also with a mortgage broker and we submitted on the 20th May! All the info was submitted but they needed to validate my address (as they couldnt find it on the system and with my utility bills they still got it wrong when validating it) so this took time and they have finally done the valuation and I got an email today saying its with an underwriter and I will receive an offer in the next 24hrs! So i feel your pain but the light is there eventually! Good luck0

Applied for mortgage: 11-Jun-13
Valuation fees: 11-Jun-13
Valuation instructed: 11-Jun-13
Valuation scheduled: 19-Jun-13 (got a call from vendor informing the same, on 11-Jun-13 itself).
Status: Received email today from mortgage adviser at the bank branch that the offer has been issued and should be with us through post in a couple of days.
Needed to know the valuation figure, so have sent an email to the adviser requesting if the figure be shared informally while I wait to receive the formal offer by post. Unsure of a response, fingers crossed!!
