Morrisons have goo meat and fish but some random things seem loads more than I expect - though I do most of my shopping at aldi so maybe thats why. Good fresh bread and good reductions mid sunday afternoon!

  • I shop in morrisons as it's in town. I prefer their fresh breads over any other supermarket and their cheeses are always cheap. I have a love for their bakery onion seeded bagels. 5 for £1! bargain. I also like their own branded tea and most of their relishes etc. Morrisons are good for offers on the top branded items so it might be worth looking round for those :) x x

Goals: Save £500 for emergencies, Save £200 of Amazon vouchers for Xmas, fix my holey clothes!

I'm a convert to Morrisons, we haven't had any own brand food that we haven't liked (we used to shop in Sainsburys) They have proper butchers so the meat is not all pre packaged but real cuts with some very good offers. Ours has the best local deli, with general food items being either good value or good offers. I buy 2Kg bags of Allinsons bread flour for £1.99, our local Tesco sell it at £3.50! They also have an offer where if you spend £35 you get a voucher, collect 3 vouchers in a month and you get £10 off your 4th shop which is a real saving

I like morrisons for fresh meat, fruit and veg (never had an issue with it going off quickly as mentioned by another poster but I do lots of little shops rather than one big one so only buy as much as will be used within a few days) and their fresh bread is also very good. I tend to rotate my shops to take advantage of offers in different shops and I usually come home with some good half price/bogof stuff from morries.
Common sense?...There's nothing common about sense!
  • We have Morrisons, Sainsburys, Asda and Tescos all relatively close by. I don't get the Sainsburys snobbery. To me they're just ridiculously overpriced (fruit and veg is a joke). Tescos is the next one down I would say. They seem to go all out on BOGOFs but regular pricing is well over the top.

Morrisons fruit and veg are very cheap and very, very good. Their cut flowers are brilliant, and the meat is excellent.

They do the best top-end coleslaw I've ever tasted.

However, if I were buying wine, I'd go to Asda. I'm not sure about beer, but on wine Morrisons are definitely dearer.

Agreed about Sainsbury's. I simply don't understand how they are getting away with it. It's as if they made a policy decision a year or so ago that they were going to target Waitrose. Sadly, they didn't emulate Waitrose's quality, variety, service or ambience - just the high prices!

Im a Morrisons convert to and find they are much cheaper than Tesco. They have a 46p bag of "value salad" and its 200g, cabbage, lettuce and red cabbage, very good value. Tesco its £1 for the same thing.

Also their fruit/veg is much cheaper than Tesco. Occassionally get 4 oranges for 50p, and their best fruit/veg deals are always easier to see as they're displayed near the front of the shop next to one another. I've found the quality to be the same quality as Tesco - okay, no issues with it going off quickly. Also their stores are generally not as huge as Tesco so its easier and quicker to go in and you don't find yourself walking half a mile to get to a product.

I like their deli counter with cooked meats and quiches, they are lovely. I also like their salad bar and find it is always being cleaned and topped up. Their fish is better than any of the other supermarkets and I always get my meat there. I think Asda have better prices on fruit and veg but Morrisons a better range. I love their rottisserie chickens and often get them at half price in the evening. They do good special offers on branded products.

If you want organic fruit and veg, better go elsewhere - really poor offerings there, just a token few.

We have a small Morrisons nearby. They have nice meat and also have a good 'takeaway' range we sometimes buy instead of paying for a real takeaway. They also have nice prepacked fresh chicken, easy instead of a sat takeaway (brie & bacon etc). The wine is sometimes good too. As you might notice I use it for more convinence and do my big shop in Tesco/Sainsburys but thats just due to store size.
