I wonder if any of you wise folks can help a tecchie innocent out.
I bought a NATPC X210, and havent had any problems with it, but now I need to get mobile internet for use on a couple of trips.
I want PAYG because there will only be 2 occasions I will need it this month and then another 2 in August
I will be using it for FB and Twitter, and to read newspapers and articles, no gaming.
I assume I need to get a micro sim and top it up as you do a PAYG phone, but I dont know what mb I will need or the best value mobile internet
Please help

You can buy microsims on ebay for about £10-12 -I use a seller based in Northampton - which give 3GB with an expiry of 3 months or when data runs out - They are on 3. I find this the cheapest way to use my ipad, and just change the sim for a new one instead of topping up £10 per 1GB !
Be careful to buy proper data sims prepackaged from reputable sellers, and not cut down mobile phone sims though, there can be problems with these homemade versions and the data is not meant to be used on tablets. The £12 microsim with 3GB is a bargain though, much pricier from a hight street shop.0 -
Ermm..since the Tablet doesn't have a place to put the SIM, quite what are you going to do with it? You certainly don't need any kind of Micro SIM.
Unless you have a Huawei USB modem or a MiFi unit, you are a bit stuck unless you can tether to your Smartphone.0 -

Really? You absolutely sure?
I just checked the spec and I think you are mistaking the sd slot for a sim slot.0 -
It does not have a SIM slot or a modem for phone connection.
If it supports it could work with a dongle, you need to check your manual about this.

Are your trips abroad? If so beware data roaming charges which can be horrendous. If not then I think niftydigits probably has your best answer. If you have an android phone just make it a wifi hotspot and tether your tablet. It's a very simple process as a quick google will reveal. You would only need to do that when you are beyond the range of friendly, free wifi networks in coffee shops etc.
Assuming your tablet cannot take a sim, my understanding (from a recent discussion with Cr*pphone Wh*rehouse techie staff ) is that many/most tablets are not compatible with a USB wifi dongle and you would need a more expensive mifi device if you cannot tether tablet to a mobile phone.Just because somebody is certain doesn't mean they are right!0 -
£15 fee which is converted to £15 credit and free 500mb per month. http://ovivomobile.com/offer/ovivo-for-data/0

Yup, no sim slot from what I can find out.
Instead of taking a chance on a dongle working I'd invest a little on a mini device, they aren't that much more than a dongle, and imo work much better than a dongle.
CeX for example sell a mini device from £28 argos also sell them for £300
