Debt collection company for a parking ticket

Hi
I hope I'm in the correct bit to ask my question.

I recieved a parking charge notice for a car park in Birmingham ( Albert Street car park) I appealed the fine as I did buy a ticket and they said for me to just pay a £10 admin fee instead but I refused to pay this as I did buy a ticket.

I have now recieved letters from a debt collection company stating I owe them £160!

What will happen if I ignore the debt collection company? Any advice on what to do would be great.
Thanks :)

Who issued the ticket. Specifically was it issued by a local council?

Loads of links and threads about ignoring this tosh if it's regarding a private fake PCN:

Ignore it unless you get small claim papers (very rare - and defendable - but clearly a different kettle of fish than the debt collector drivel).

    It was vehicle control services.

I only entered the number part of my reg as with all other car parks they only ask for the year of the reg so because I didn't enter the whole reg they said my ticket was invalid and said pay £10 admin fee as a good gesture.
I still have the ticket btw.

I obviously didn't pay this so now getting letters from a debt collection company. Will they actually go far as getting CCJ and send bailiffs round? It seems really unfair!

I think you misunderstand the status of debt collectors. They are not bailiffs, but private citizens with no more power than you or I to demand money off people and they don't come knocking on doors.

The only way you will get a CCJ (and a possible visit from a proper bailiff) is if the case goes to court, you lose and then you fail pay to whatever the judge orders. As this is so unlikely that it's not worth worrying about.

They can only get a CCJ and recover from you if they take you to court and actually win - Which is very highly unlikley, esp as you have paid so there is no loss to scammers.

As for charging you a tenner to "cancel" the ticket, then that is just a joke - esp as the very offer to cancel it would almost certainly see you win against them should they try to take it further! :D

VCS and their fake debt collector will now likely send you a number of increasingly hysterical and threatening letters, which are quite meaningless and easy to ignore. In fact they may already be illustrated on this thread:

No, as the link I gave you above your post tells you already. Here it is again, and another one too for your info (doesn't matter who the PPC was):
