UK Stamps On Airmail

I tried using some 1st CLASS LARGE stamps on an airmail small packet and also got told off. The postmaster ripped off my stamps and replaced them with his own.
He claimed that the value did not show on the 1st CLASS LARGE stamps so the receiving foreign postal service would not know if the correct postage had been applied.I had to take the non-sticky stamps home and re-use them....
So it looks like what people say that you can do, and what some Post masters permit are 2 different things.I am a cow so cannot speak Bullshine but I do recognise its smell when I come upon it.0 -
Your postmaster is an a**ehole. both Post offices I use have happily taken first and second class stamps as partial payment for airmail services.0

You say that to him - I will tell him to expect you.....I am a cow so cannot speak Bullshine but I do recognise its smell when I come upon it.0

Ooooh. Tried it again today and got tag teamed by both PO staff.
They categorically stated that UK stamps cannot be used on items going abroad. Do you think I should contact RM and see what they have to say?0 -
YES. Then bring in their letter and show the counter staff.#145 Save £12k in 2016 Challenge: £12,062.62/£12,000.00 Beginning Balance: £5,027.78 CHALLENGE MET
