This implies that your dish may be misaligned or there is a poor connection to the LNB. Hard to tell without having a closer look and if necessary turning the dish very slgihtly.

    Yes, sounds like mis-aligned dish.

I've not personally known anyone be charged the call out fee if they are a subscriber, a quick call to tell them you are cancelling because it's not working results in first an offer to reduce the call out fee and then fix the fault for free.

I've never paid, friends and family haven't paid either.

Though if you don't subscribe then Sky will charge you that fee, though you can go to a local satellite installer who may do the job cheaper.

I know Sky try to brainwash people into thinking they control the whole system, they own satellites etc, but for most channels all Sky do is provide an EPG slot for channels who want to be listed on their proprietary EPG.
It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!

This is a common fault with Grundig receivers. You didn't bother to mention the make and model but if it's a Grundig, you need a power supply repair kit.

Did you read the thread?.. The OP has tested 2 boxes, one is a Sky+ Box, Grundig never made Sky+ Boxes, so you are just leading the OP up the garden path.
