The letting agents don't have to say anything as it's the landlord i.e. the legal owner of the property who will be the one taking you to court.
That's if s/he can be bothered. Oddly the ones I know who can be bothered tend to have links to the legal profession.I'm not cynical I'm realistic

I'd sue.
Not just because I'd be legally entitled to, but because of the attitude.
If OP had come and had a friendly chat, explained predicament, offered a compromise etc, I'd have happily agreed an Early Surrender.
But a tenant who
* gives insufficient notice to start with (calender month instead of tenancy period),
* then back-tracks and tries to end tenancy earlier still (so 2 weeks not even the calender month)
* then fails to return keys
* AND is uppity and mouthy
.....
Deposit witheld and/or small claims court!0 -
