Why all the fuss over a bad meal, just don't use them again, it won't be your last bad meal, get over it.

Isnt the main point of a takeaway that you get hot food without having to cook it, you didn't get hot food, the 'customer service' they are giving you is absolutely terrible
Its not just about if the OP didnt like the taste, the food was cold, there was condensation meaning it had probably been sitting in the container for too long
That is not what you pay for when you order a takeaway

There are some things the internet just does not work for and ordering a take away through a "take away broker", who is of course being paid a commission by the restaurant for your order, is not one of the internet successes. [/QUOTE]

I've used other third party take-away websites in the past, and they can be very successful.

The biggest difference between the successful site and just-eat is that the other site did everything. They took the orders, they dispatched the order to the restaurants, they picked up the food and they delivered it to you.

This meant there was a huge variety of take-away available, even "nice" restaurants took part. The restaurant didn't have to hire anyone to do delivery or take phone orders or even print paper menus. They just needed to fulfill the orders that came in to them.

    That link/address does not work.

The food was not instantly thrown away as you have stated they all tasted cold and 'very poor quality'.

How 'cold' exactly?Chinese is never what you could describe as hot.It is often warm to cool.

Condensation on some containers is common too and often depends on the dish.Hot food being placed in a container with a lid will cause condensation. If it hadn't just been cooked before going in it would not have caused condensation!

I have never gotten a chinese meal (in a restuaran) that was "warm to cool" and would send it back if I did. I would therefore expect a takeaway to be of the same standard and temperature

Let's get some perspective. It was a takeaway that turned out to be rubbish. It's not the first time it's happened and won't be the last. Just make sure you leave an honest review on justeat and tell all your friends to get the word out.

Had it been a good meal it would still all be history now.

Do you think consumer rights don't apply when buying a takeaway then?

Push it with Just-eat. I suggest you email their CS team, or go at them on their Twitter/Facebook.
They told me once that they couldn't help with a refund but if I paid by card in future they could. The restaurant I regularly use also tells me that JE collect the payments then pay them at a later date, so they're talking out of their backsides when they say the restaurant processes payment.

We have used a local Indian takeaway for several years now, Delivered and picked up when passing.

But deliveries started getting longer and longer. The last time they said 40 minutes. It took them almost 2 hours. Whilst picking one up we noticed there were only 3 people working there. So the chef had to make deliveries also.

We stopped using the, But the food is so nice. The one over the road if bland by comparison.
