who. gets the blame
I was leaving my local leisure centre and as I was approaching the junction at the end of the road a cyclist came speeding round the corner from my right side and we collided . the cyclist got To his feet and limped about a bit and unknown To me started To record what was said. I said sorry and mentioned my passenger had distracted me. the cyclist then took photographs which show that my car was slightly on his side of the road ( approx three feet over ) although there was no white lines . who is To blame as he was injured quite badly. please help.

"We collided" did he cycle into you or did you hit him?
As there was an injury you should check this page and make sure you comply with all the requirements

Would you be asking this if it were a motorbike? or a car? or a bus?“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

I guess there's an argument that the cyclist was going too fast to be able to stop, especially with limited visibility. You could have been over the line whilst avoiding an object in the road, though was the white middle line a solid one or broken as that would make a difference too.0

You have no idea what happened or who is to blame as you were distracted.
I think you're on a hiding to nothing.0 -

I think you're on a hiding to nothing.
Thats how I see it, especially if the cyclist has it recorded.
As a motorist, why would you say sorry and say I was distracted if you were not to blame?
I had a motorcycle hit me head on a few years ago and he broke his leg...I didnt apologise as I was not at fault.
As someone else said would you be asking the same question if it was any other type of vehicle0 -
As you admitted (on camera?) that you were distracted, you seem to have admitted liability."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

Yep, Collision 101, never admit liability, always make sure the health of everyone involved is ok, call for assistance if required. Take photos, videos etc.
The cyclist played the game, you didnt0 -
By your own admission you weren't paying attention and were 3 feet (which by the way doesn't really class as 'slightly') onto the wrong side of the road. Had you been paying attention would the outcome have been different? I think you've already answered your own question. That and you've already admitted it was your fault to the cyclist. I'd say it's not looking too favourable for you.0

Were you moving or stationary?
Speeding - over 30 mph?!
Any visibility issues (night time, sight-lines)?
Either the cyclist was going too fast and not expecting the unexpected or you were driving without due care and attention. If you were moving the latter seems likely.0 -
You pulled out, Looks like you were to blame.
You can say he was speeding, But you wont be able to prove it.
Injured quite badly but still managed to record you. Think he got you good and proper.
As mentioned above make sure you report it properly.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
