Started it, I agree with the comment above that it is slow to start, only had time for about an hours play and most of that was cut scenes. So fingers crossed I get to take control of Lara for a little longer than 2 mins at a time...that wasn't meant to have any sexual conatations lol.

Loved it. By far the best since Tomb Raider 1, 2 and 3.

There was one moment get got stuck in my mind, when Lara had to climb up the arial, damn that felt somewhat looking over the area.... doesnt help that I am not really comfy with hights :D

As for the game: Its just too easy. The tutorial button makes its too easy, which made me finish all the challenges. Actually got 100% and all achievement apart from the Online ones.

Overall its worth £25, however I paid 40 quid on release day which retrospectivley is a bit expensive.

I just wish the publoishers would have put in extra Tomb, more storyline etc via DLC.... yet they only brought out Multiplayer DLC.

Just completed TR. Had a couple of days off and some time to myself so worked my way through it. My Steam shows a total time played of 13.4 hours so it's a little on the short side for me given I bought it at launch for £30 but the gameplay was exciting enough that I'll let it off.

Definitely the best TR game for some time and I say that as somebody who enjoyed Legend.

    No intention of playing multiplayer.

Absolutely loved this game - but I am a big Tombraider fan.

I bought the game on release and finished it in about a week (couldn't play all the time :D). If you are used to these styles of games I recommend playing it on hard, as I played on normal and the combat wasn't as challenging as I would like.

The graphics are amazing and seemlessly move you between when you are controlling Lara and when she is squeezing though things and when it goes to a cut scene.

There are lots of achievements for using particular techniques and for finding all the collectables and hidden tombs which is my favourite part.

I really enjoyed the story but I wanted more game! So I'm hoping they put out a sequel or some DLC soon! :T

Edited to add: as above I have no intention of playing multiplayer - never had an interest in playing capture the flag!

anyone play the new Tomb raider, I loved the first one but they slowly wend down hill, then dropped of a cliff at the bottom, wondering is this one worth a try at £20 (Amazon)
its a good game but the multiplayer is poor in my opinion. i would say its worth £20 easily.

Loved it, the gameplay was fairly easy, but then I like that. I've only ever completed Legend, in previous games I just gave up haha!

I thought it was a very well written story, it was Rhianna Pratchett (daughter of Terry) who did it, and I felt it bought in quite a lot of emotion to the story which drew me, as a player, into it...instead of plodding along and the plot just being the quick means to an end if that makes sense?

OH was very impressed by the graphics. Well worth a play.
Do good deeds and you could raise the curtain, do good deeds and you could really raise your life....
  • Great reviews everyone, thank you :)

Loved the new one. Great controls and gameplay. Nice storyline with some interesting twists and turns. I bought it at full price and have not ever regretted that.
  • I have played every TR and was really looking forward to this one. But although the handling was good, where were the tombs and puzzles. yes it was like assassins creed, it was like all the rest. the point is TR stood out, you had to work your brain to solve the puzzles. The best review i read was that it should never been called a TR game, as all the best parts had been removed.
