Luton Airport Fast Lane

Hi
I am looking for a bit of advice, I will be flying with Ryan air out of Luton next week to Tenerife with my family. I have heard there is a Fast track lane for Security charged at £3 per person. I was basically wondering if anyone has used this and if it is worthwhile. I have never flown from Luton before so not sure how long the security checks take there.

Many thanks

ha ha! No i must have been feeling very tight at the time of booking and decided that it was not worth it. Just be interested to here if someone has used this and what benefit it brings.

    Cheers

I used it a few years back when we saw the queue from security came all the way down the stairs. You can buy the tickets from a machine at the bottom of the stairs

We had already been delayed because of the wretched traffic management system on the the roads outside Luton ( which have since vastly improved, I may add).

For the price of a cup of coffee and a pastry, that fast entry system was well worth while on the day

Holding passengers to ransom by causing delays in central search is illegal, but if you intend to arrive 30 minutes before your flight departs then i can see the value...............but if you arive 2 hours before the gate closes and the queue could cause you to miss the flight then you are fully entitled to use the fast track free of charge, infact many times the priority/fast track is open to all to reduce congestion

At Southend airport on tuesday we went up the escalator to the boarding card check, followed the ribbon to the desk and the clerk told us we were on the fast track side of the ribbon and we should retrace our steps and go back and enter the other side of the ribbon, the other (non fast track) desk was empty,i said the desk was empty and would he be moving over to it,he mumbled some reply and said he would unclip the ribbon at the desk so we could step 6 inches to the other side.
Now,anybody that has flown from southend will know that the fast track is a distance of 4 metres to the security scanner and hand luggage x-ray....the distance by going peasant track is 8 metres....anyway back to the story, now standing the other side of the ribbon...same clerk, same desk he scanned our check-in passes..........were there hundreds/dozens of people having there passes checked........no.....1 person in front of my wife and i and nobody else in sight,no queue at the belts and the "fast track" belt was not in use
Jobsworth is not the word for it

I think i will just wait until we get there. We plan to be there 2 hours before so probably won't need to. I had read some horror stories about Luton holding up passengers at the security checks so waiting times increased. However these might just have been scaremonger stories. I have never flown with Ryanair before and just don't want to be caught out with the time deadlines.
