Hi all I've had an issue grumbling on since the beginning of April that doesn't seem to be getting sorted any time soon but I'm just wondering what the potential outcome could be.
A bit of background.......took out a DRO in January of which Vanquis were a named creditor. They started taking payments out of my bank account at end of January (after DRO put in place), which Halifax refunded with no problems until the end of March when they contacted Vanquis regarding latest refund who provided a faxed letter that I contacted them at end of March to set up a payment plan. This, apparently, was sufficient 'proof' for Halifax that the transaction was in fact valid and they took the money back out of my account. Vanquis have not been able to provide any evidence of said phone call (as it NEVER happened and they lied to Halifax in order to gain money they shouldn't be taking) and yet Halifax still insist that it was a valid transaction.
Both Vanquis and Halifax know about the DRO, the official receiver contact Vanquis and I have phoned, emailed, and hand written to Halifax along with a copy of the DRO, and yet Halifax STILL insist they have done nothing wrong and that money should have gone to Vanquis.
I have contact the FOS who are going to take up the case but does anyone have any opinions or advice on what the potential outcome will be (both best and worse case scenario)? Will I be able to get compensated for the ridiculous amount of money I have had to pay on phone calls about this?
Sorry it's so long I am just so fed up with it now
