Okay, who is going to volunteer to put a petition up on the Number 10 website then?
"We the undersigned urge the Prime Minister Tony Blair, to bestow an honour to Martin Lewis, the Money Saving Expert, in recognition of his contribution helping many thousands of the public with their personal finances".
Does that sound a bit silly and does anyone think Tony Blair will perhaps read it?0 -
Knight/Dame
A pre-eminent contribution in any field, usually, but not exclusively at national level, or in a capacity which will be recognised by peer groups as inspirational and significant nationally, and which demonstrates sustained commitment;
I think he fulfills those requirements. Inspirational and significant nationally in his field and the site demonstrates a sustained commitment. I think he would actually stand a chance and he could also get an mbe or one of the others if he doesn't quite meet that criteria.
Didn't one of the osbournes get one at some point or something, they give them out for less contribution to society then martins given thats for sure.[FONT=georgia, bookman old style, palatino linotype, book antiqua, palatino, trebuchet ms, helvetica, garamond, sans-serif, arial, verdana, avante garde, century gothic, comic sans ms, times, times new roman, serif]A bank is a place that will lend you money if you can prove that you don't need it

No offense, but I personally know someone who in many ways has done more in some fields.
My dad runs a charity off his Incap Benefit, has saved thousands of lives, sometimes gets phone calls at 6am answers, spends hours on phone advising people, has saved them tens of thousands of pounds and their lives etc.
He has NEVER recieved an award, despite his clients filling in loads of forms.0 -
I'll wait and see if i get a big fat cheque from reclaiming my bank charges first,then i'll be back. LOL0
