AOL to TalkTalk

When moving from AOL to Talk Talk, as its really the same company, what actually changes? do I lose my aol email, do I lose stuff saved on my aol email, does my old aol homepage with my saved faves vanish?

Do I have to use the new router?

Yes you'll keep everything you mention, because the online account aspect is still owned by America Online, whereas the broadband service you'd be leaving is TalkTalk trading as AOL Broadband.

Unless you're looking for TalkTalk TV, there's no reason to move to TalkTalk from AOL as their price plans are much the same as AOL's, so really it could only complicate things.

On the router - you'd need to use the new TalkTalk one if you went for the TV service but otherwise you could use a different one.

Thanks for the reply. I saved a lot of money by changeing , and will get the voucher for shopping.
Turned out the provided new router didnt work with wifi, only on main pc. so we kept the old one, my techie friend changed the password on it. My laptops were connecting but couldnt find the signal from new router, might it have been faulty?

    Frying pans and fires?

I left AOL when CPW took over. 2 reasons. The connection suffered after the change and they wanted me to pay to pay them.
Pay.... You must be joking. When your tech support said my dropped connections were because my router had the wrong coloured cable.

What coloured cable does a wireless router need? The one in the master socket is the original one i have always used. And still use to this day.

    No issues with O2.

Anyway. I still have my AOL accounts including email. Still login and all working fine.

Even my Canadian and US accounts still work.
