Sending a Picture Message
I'm off to Europe soon and may send a few picture messages via my S3 back home to the UK. After hearing these horror stories of people coming home to mega mobile phone bills I be turning Data Roaming off.
I presume though that I'll have to turn on 'Data Roaming' to enable me a picture message from Europe back to the UK?
Am I also right in thinking that I'll incur no extra charges if I just leave 'Data Network Mode' activated (the little up and down arrows are visible) whilst in Europe in case I receive a telephone call or I want to make a call from Europe back to the UK?

whoever you're going to send the pics home to - is their phone capable of using Whatsapp?
If so - send them back using that, whenever you have a wifi signal - that way you can avoid using mobile data altogether. plus it'll save you on the MMS costs too.0

I don't think they would have this app on their phones.0

Could they get it? Whatsapp is available for all of the smartphone OS's.
Or maybe you could just email the photos back when on wifi?0

you can leave your network connection off and disable the data connection. This will allow you to send and receive calls and texts but wont allow you to use data.
how much this will cost will depend on where your going and what network your on.
but in general, it can cost you money to receive a call, and it can cost you alot more to make one, and text are usually more expensive to send as well0

Just email the photos via hotel wifi, MMS is a right shaft.0

As others have said, use email on your phone via WiFi in a local cafe or bar. MMS, picture messaging, or whatever is stupidly expensive in the UK, let alone overseas.0

 Agreed.

Either get the recipient to installwhatsapp, and send the pics that way, or email it to them instead.

When your phone is on wifi, of course.

i think they should get rid of picture messaging altogether as its a rip off. just use whatsapp and others like it and tell your friends/family to install it then you can send pics/text for nothing, they are the same like msn messenger and yahoo messenger (free). or just use email to send it.My Signature is MY OWN!!0
