The calculated floor space for your property that over hangs or both properties?
Just your floor space. So for example if one bedroom overhangs then just the floor space of that bedroom.
I'm not sure if FF over a passageway is better or not. I know some lenders would be more likely to lend than other although I can't remember which.
We looked at a house with one room FF but didnt buy it in the end for other reasons0 -
If you search this forum for "flying freehold" I think my old thread should come up. I got some good info from people on here.0

There is local act of parliament that helps the flying freehold situation round there (and mitigates the potential bad effects of FF), but it only applies to a particular parish - I can't remember its name. Could be Hebden Royd?RICHARD WEBSTER
As a retired conveyancing solicitor I believe the information given in the post to be useful assuming any properties concerned are in England/Wales but I accept no liability for it.0 -
We have a tiny FF in our semi - literally the footprint of the neighbour's airing cupboard
- but it cost us a few hundred pounds for an indemnity policy when we bought the place. Our lender (YBS) weren't unduely fussed about it.

We actually have it too. It's about 15ftx3ft. Our lender also YBS didn't even notice. It does take a bit of studying of the floor plan to work out.0 -
