The problem is those of us who do want genuine copies are being sold pirate copies at genuine copy prices. Why buy copied ones anyway when the quality is inferior and extras are more often than not missing?
I now make a point of asking if they are genuine discs and if theres no reply - no bid is made. I also make a point when asking this that if I get sent a pirate copy then they will be reported to trading standards and FACT.
After all this though, the only DVDs I tend to buy of eBAY are used copies as you can get brand new ones from legitimate online DVD shops such as PLAY or CDWOW for about the same price, cheaper or £1 or £2 more. With price differences that minimal I find its best not to gamble on receiving a naff copy.Never argue with an idiot. He will bring you down to his level and beat you with experience.

This gets on my nerves too. I deal in CDs and DVDs and a couple of times am being undercut by people selling pirated copies - sometimes resulting in a loss to me. They may be just the little guy wanting to make a couple of quid spending money - but so am I!!!! - it's just that I won't do anything illegall to do it.Giving up is easy...... just keep on trying!0

The only advice I can give is to use a pic of the actual DVD for sale, and use it in the gallery also. If unsealed (used) take the pic on a white tea/bath towel, with the Box, the disc/s, the booklet. This saves those searching a lot of grief, and from my own experience, ensures your End Of Auction prices are up there with the best.

Yes I agree substitution is not acceptable if you believe the item is genuine. nb - quality is not usually inferior. Or so I hear ;-]
If an item is quite clearly a copy then I dont have a problem with that - whatever copyright law might say.
Usually such films are one that are not legally available yet as DVDRs so your daft anyway if you dont realise what you are buying.0
