Advice re non payer

Hi, yet another headache buyer! Sold an item on buy it now, message from buyer was they would pay in a few days, week later nothing so I re-invoiced them, nothing again. Now I was going to open a NPB and a quick check of their feedback showed they haven't paid for a few items last couple of weeks as sellers have left 'not paid comments', I checked feedback 'left for others' and see they have left lots of negatives in the past couple of months claiming non receipt, not as described, too high postage, etc. Replies by sellers are mostly warnings to others accusing buyer of bullying, blackmailing tactics, etc. So any idea what I am supposed to do? I certainly don't want to open a NPB as forcing such a person into paying for something they obviously don't want is sure to spell trouble. I couldn't understand at first why people were leaving positives with not paid comments but now I do, they like me are basically scared of this person!! I'm thinking the best course of action would be to ask if they wish to cancel the transaction. Any advice appreciated.

open a NPB. If you end up with a negative, ring ebay and direct them to the feedback they have left other sellers. If they contact you and you regard it as bullying, ring ebay and inform them rather than responding to the buyer.

NPB. If you close it after 4 days without payment then he can't leave any feedback.

If he pays, then send it tracked.

    Thats not why.

Ebay in their infinite wisdom have prevented sellers from leaving negative feedback for buyers. Therefore the only way to communicate their disatisfaction is to make a negative comment and leave positive feedback.

When what they should be doing is NPB and getting the buyer a strike.

If I were you I'd just re-list the item and move on. The majority of sales on ebay work out okay, in my experience, I'd not waste much time on one that had gone pear shaped but essentially cost me nothing. But that's just me.

You lose your final value fees. We don't know the value of this item.

I think that as new sellers you need to both be aware of how non paying disputes work- leaving a false positive is a terrible idea- the strike can be removed and the buyer is free to keep doing it. Even if the buyer decides to leave the feedback you are just increasing their overall positive score which gets them past many a block- madness.

As for just leaving it, really? No buyer is getting away with costimg me money- even if this was a 99p item I would be doing a full NPB on them. One step closer to effectively banning themselves from ebay by being blocked from most sellers auctions.

OP for future reference make sure you enable 'immediate payment required' on BINs so unless they pay they don't show as having bought the item.

It's a sad state of affairs when sellers are scared of their buyers

I always open NPB's - probably over 100 cases by now - and to date have not had any low stars or bad feedback from those who eventually paid.
If I did I would be straight on the phone to Ebay although not convinced that they would do anything about it.

Hi, decided to delay the NPB and instead I contacted him and asked if he still wanted the item, he said yes and would pay shortly. Today he's asking to pay by Bank Transfer. Never received payment by that method before, is it safe? He buys and sells on Ebay but I'm assuming he currently has some Paypal problem, he hasn't given me any kind of explanation for the payment delay.
