Avanti bulk tank removal

Has anyone had a bulk tank removal done by Avanti (once upon a time Shell)? I have requested my tank to be removed by them, and I am getting the distict impression that I am being given the runaround. I sent an email to them on May 4th to inform them that I wished to terminate my contract and have my tank removed, and that it was empty - I got no answer. I sent another on May 17th, which was answered, but they needed to know if the tank was empty. I have since sent two in June asking them how things were going, and only the second has been answered. I got that one this weekend, and I have been told it has been put in the hands of Avanti's technical division, nothing more than that. I would like to know if this is an example if Avanti's service to its customers.

Working on the theory of the cheapest way to remove a tank, which is to deliver one and then take one away in one trip, I guess Avanti isn't getting too many new customers in my part of North Norfolk.

To anyone thinking of getting into bulk LPG, I have say don't; you will be joining a minority group that gets very little championing from out politicians or the BBC. When I think of how the Today program drags on a whole horde of politicos and heads of companies every time mains gas goes up by a few bob, I just wonder if they know LPG users exist.

No direct experience with Avanti but one can imagine they are in no hurry to collect it! As much as I hate to be fair to Flogas (they certainly were never fair with me) they did actually collect my tank fairly swiftly!

Have you considered telephoning them???

Alternatively, you could try e mailing anthony dot bagshaw at avantigas dot com as he signs himself as (rather strangely IMHO) as the "complaints coordinator"!
