30th Birthday

My husband turns 30 next month and I have absolutely no idea what to get him. He doesn't have any hobbies apart from sitting on the computer and the very odd bit of gardening. He isn't interested about meals out, hotel stays etc (although he does enjoy it when we go), and going and staying at a hotel would be a big hassle with having to either put the dog in kennels or find someone to take him overnight.
Any advice? When I google men's 30th birthday ideas, they come up with driving experiences and what not and I'm really not convinced he'd be bothered about an experience day.
I had thought about either getting him a £200 John Lewis voucher or a £200 voucher for a PC website (as I'd have no idea what he'd want for his PC), but when I raised this with in-laws they were quite strong that I shouldn't get him a voucher for his 30th, so I wouldn't really want the added worry about them looking down on me for doing so and maybe criticising the amount of the voucher.
Help!

Photography? Would he like a decent camera? Or if he has one some photography lessons? Does he like music? Maybe take him to a gig/concert? What sort of clothes does he wear? Maybe a nice jacket? Take him out shopping or even do it online with him. A comfy garden chair? Membership of National Trust?0

No to all of them, he isn't interested!
I was considering clothes as he never buys any himself, but it's what I normally do for non-special birthdays. I normally go on John Lewis online and buy a few jumpers/jeans and cologne!0 -
He sounds like a gadgety man, does he have an iPad or something along those lines? It's always darkest before the dawn.

I think that's a pretty good description. He doesn't, but I know the in-laws are buying him a tablet!0 -

Divorce papers?
Only joking, but what on earth do you do together or talk about if he only wants to sit in front of the computer and isn't interested in going out?
What about something completely off the wall that you can do together and that you'd never do any other time? Look at some of the 'experience' websites for inspiration and then book it yourself for half the price.
Failing that, there's a new Xbox coming out this year.0 -
Does he like music? We've just bought a Sonos, which can link up with an ipad. I think it was about £200 and is a good gadget as well as being usable.0

Hahaha! Well we do go out for meals of course, a bit of walking, we do do some gaming together, but I'm really the foodie so if I were to book a posh restaurant I think it'd feel like it were for me!
I've seen the experiences and a couple have got my attention, but I'm not sure how really worth the money they are?
As for music, he listens to the odd bit but certainly not 'into' music!0 -
Yeah PS4's and new XBox are out this year, new generation consoles if he is in to those kind of things? It's always darkest before the dawn.
