We already have a PS4 on preorder and it's a long time between July (his bday) and November, so I don't think I can try and pass that off as his present!
Hahaha I have to say I think our house is a little bit full on the animal front, although I have been eyeing up some chihuahuas I think it'd be a present for me not him

well im a geek/gadget man, and for my 30th i got a tablet and a tropical fish tank (love my little fishies) and i tend to find a lot of PC geeks do love their fish, as on one of my techie forums we have a specific 'show me your tank' thread and lots of them have them
otherwise go for something totally 'geeky cool' like a good remote controlled car/helicoptor/plane
or dependant on his computer look at a upgrade for it (you would need his computer specs if you wanted to do it in secret)Drop a brand challenge
on a £100 shop you might on average get 70 items save
10p per product = £7 a week ~ £28 a month
20p per product = £14 a week ~ £56 a month
30p per product = £21 a week ~ £84 a month (or in other words one weeks shoping at the new price)0 -

I know he would like a new graphics card, and although I'm not totally computer illiterate I'd be a bit nervous about it as I know some of them come in different shapes and it'd be my worse nightmare if it was too bit to fit or not compatible with his motherboard
Do you know of any forums or something where if I took the specs off his PC sneakily I could get some advice on what would fit??0 -
Don't get him a fish tank unless you're prepared to do all the work of looking after it though, or unless you talk about it beforehand and he wants to take it on. There's more to looking after fish than a lot of people think!0

well there is a techie section of this website/forum

things you will need
current graphics card
motherboard make/model
Power supply make and model
rough space (measurements around the current graphics card)
budget
OR in his card put in a "I owe you one Graphics card of your choice upto £X" note in it and let him spend some time choosing - which is something i really enjoy (and pee off the wife with) researchingDrop a brand challenge

I've seen the experiences and a couple have got my attention, but I'm not sure how really worth the money they are?
I've been given a few - a light aircraft flight (where I actually flew it a bit) and a hot air balloon flight. Thoroughly enjoyed both, even though they were expensive and certainly not something I would have treated myself to.
Make a full day out of one and include a nice meal. If going for the hot air balloon though, seriously consider buying two so that you can accompany him. Makes it an expensive day out, but much more enjoyable than doing it alone. Also, they are frequently subject to cancellations due to weather - you get another booking, but it took us a year to get our flight in and others have said the same.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the In My Home MoneySaving, Energy and Techie Stuff boards.
