Help-Holiday,wrong dates booked by Agent & not fully checked

Hi all, I'm unsure if I am posting in the correct section (if I'm wrong please advise)
Story so far.....
My girlfriend booked a holiday flight & room to Rome(non-package) over the 'phone thru an internet agent for herself and her sister.
The agent's representative (possibly new to the job), 1) verbally confirmed the dates she had requested (12th July -19th July 2013)
a)gave wrong costs for hotel transfers
b) didn't give a final breakdown of costs(which we later found should have happened as it was the company procedure).
Following up about the hotel transfer charges the Internet Agent listened to the taped conversion and admitted the rep
had 1)given wrong prices for the hotel transfers
&
2)& the rep didn't give the holiday breakdown.
The Agent's contact said the charge was to be refunded and the travelling group would receive free transfer.
However the company had cancelled the transfers completely, and we were going to query that.
However, we then printed out the emails & took a detailed look at them. The REALLY bad news then hit.. they had booked 12th JUNE - 19th JUNE for FLIGHTS & HOTEL (Not JULY)
The Travel Agents terms state "advise us of any errors within two days of receipt". The first email is dated 6th June 2013,so this time has passed.
Is there anything(positive) my partner can do? The initial fault is the company's but my girlfriend (& I !) should have checked the holiday booking in more detail- rather than just skimming on the screen.
Thanks in advance, Sinistral

It's not lowcostholidays by any chance??0

It's TravelRepublic. They checked the tape & agreed my partner had asked for 12th -19th July but at the end of conversation the rep said JUNE & my partner OK'd !. They are offering some money back on the holiday.(Either as refund to card or use on another holiday). Losing 1 day holiday for the cancellation & the losing the full Ryanair flights (as non-refundable). Any point trying for more from TravelRepublic? My partner still wants a holiday leaving from Edinburgh on those dates (but with a much reduced budget!). Thanks for reading,Sinistral0

Is it comfortable for you to travel in june. You need to search more if you are planning for a vacation, most of the travel agents are fake and they don't provide all the facilities they have mentioned at the time of booking. Try asking them to provide package vacations with low fares.0

Really?
And what do you base this statement on?
I've booked a few times with Travel Republic and everything went fine.0 -
I believe that johnwilliam is just a bot, using keyword spamming to respond to posts
Ditto .........I'd not argue with that.
I've read a couple of his other posts. :cool:2.22kWp Solar PV system installed Oct 2010, Fronius IG20 Inverter, south facing (-5 deg), 30 degree pitch, no shadingEverything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the endMFW #4 OPs: 2018 £866.89, 2019 £1322.33, 2020 £1337.07

I went for a vacation with a family package but i faced lot of problems there, they mentioned may things in the package but provide less facilities. I never planned a trip with Travel Republic. Have you asked them to provide a package vacation.0

In that case, to say "most of the travel agents are fake" is simply not true.
And you've not even used the company that the OP is having problems with.johnwilliam wrote: »Is it comfortable for you to travel in june. Furthermore, you ask if the OP's girlfriend is 'comfortable' to go in June, but if you read the first post which was posted on 16th June, the flights were mistakenly booked for 12th June - which had already passed by the time the OP first posted so that wasn't even an option!

Back to your issue:
Where do things stand at the moment?0 -
My partner accepted the TravelRepublic offer i.e. Loss of 1 day holiday & loss of the full Ryanair flights cost. She took payback to card option and accepted the money lost. So that closes that story..(But since she was desperate for a holiday you can guess there is possibly a new tale to follow). Thanks for all comments/advice, Sinistral0
