As far as I am aware it's toast I'm afraid... I would say that given the problems you already had I wouldn't have been eager to use it myself. Once you get a fair amount of bad sectors it's really a sign of a HDD on it's way to the eternal place where they go (where-ever that is) and I would start looking for a replacement - on the other note then to be honest it might be worth buying a low spec newer machine - especially as I think all you'll need is the tower. PC-world sometimes have some decent reductions to clear if you have a noseDFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!

I think you're right... I guess the disk has suffered from catastrophic physical hardware failure when OH brutally cut off the power, so now there is nothing that software could do to salvage it..
