PAYG sims in Norway?

Im off to Norway in a month or so for a couple of weeks, and i would like to use data on my phone - but without the risk of running up a bill.
At the moment in with Three on sim only contract deal.
I also have a back up Vodafone pay as you go account - which i have used before whilst abroad to take advantage of the Vodafone passport deal paying £2.00 for 25mb of data per day without the risk of bill shock.
Im aware that in some countries such as Spain ( and the UK) you can buy pre loaded sims with a certain amount of data pre-loaded,, but what are the options for Norway? ive read that you need to register any sim purchased there with an address etc etc?

probably too late for you now, but toggle would be ideal I think

Toggle doesn't yet have any data bundles for non-UK use. This means that the OP would be charged at £150/GB, which isn't cheap despite being a lot lower than the EEA price cap of £580.51/GB (no UK VAT for roaming in Norway).Flibbertygibbet wrote: »probably too late for you now, but toggle would be ideal I think

It would have been a fantastic suggestion for someone who needs only voice and SMS.Flibbertygibbet wrote: »Good job someone knows what they are talking about then :eek::eek:0 -

Carphonewarehouse site gives the distinct impression that once you have got your allocated country number for one of the 9 that its 15p/mb, what am I misunderstanding?0 -
You haven't misunderstood anything. 15p/MB is £150/GB. Don't be fooled by data charges being quoted per megabyte, which disguises their high price. Although around £10 per gigabyte is the going rate in the UK, £150 per gigabyte is 15 times the price and poor value for money.Flibbertygibbet wrote: »http://www.carphonewarehouse.com/toggle

Quoting data charges by the megabyte is akin to quoting prices for voice calls by the second (e.g. 1p/sec sounds cheap but that's 60p/min). Some networks in other countries go a step further and quote data roaming charges by the kilobyte, which is even more deceptive.0 -
Thanks for the replies, looks like im better off sticking as is with a vodafone uk sim works out at 6.79p per Mb or £2.00 for 25mb per day.
should do for a bit of basic maps/email and a small amount of web.0 -
I'm in Norway right now and to be honest I've not needed data, free wifi is available in most hotels, bars, tourist info etc. wifi is more readily available here than in the uk.
Enjoy, we're in Bergen, it's beautiful
