Additional phone on current contract

Hi All,

Sorry if this has been asked before, I did do a search and found nothing.

I currently have 2 months to run on my orange contract and want to upgrade my handset to a U600. I phoned Orange and they said I could but I would be charged a £100 ‘upgrade fee’.

Too avoid this ‘fee’, could I just add another phone to my current account, and then cancel my original phone when the 12 months is up and just keep the new one running.

I know I would have to loose my original number, but that is no big deal.

depends on your tariff, really.

If you're quite a high spend, wait for another month then check what the fee will be, I bet it will have come down to £50 or gone completely...If they are still trying to charge you an upgrade fee of £100, tell them you're off...

No point in paying two line rentals, when you're so close to the term of your contract. the two months extra would probably equate to the best part of your upgrade fee.

wait a month, then you have the upper hand in any negotiations with the network would be my advice.
